Makin A List

Our grocery bill is HUGE and my boys aren't even teenagers yet! I think part of the problem is I don't really have a plan before I shop & I just end up adding things as I go a long. Someone suggested to me that I should start making a list before I go to store and stick to it! My only problem with making a list is that I try to write it all at once & I still forget things that I need. I've been trying out this nifty SmartShopper Grocery List Maker and it has worked great! It's right on my refrigerator & when I run out of something, I just press record, speak into it and it records the items that I need. When I'm ready to attempt the grocery store I just print it off and take it with me. It organizes everything into categories. So trips to the store are much faster & I've been saving money by planning ahead. They only thing I have to be careful of, is my kids adding things we don't need... well and my husband for that matter, I think he's lovin this new gadget more than me:)

Wow, i'd love to have one of these.... instead of using up precious toner in my laser printer I could just print out a nice small list on a small piece of paper! Not just a grocery list either, an errand list as well! Very neat!

I would like this for two reasons. the first is that I often can't read my own writing on the list that is stuck on the fridge. The second is that my husband thinks that telling me what we need from the kitchen magically puts the item on the list, like I am some sort of verbal list keeper. He could just push the button and tell us both what he just used up.

I don't have a problem with writing down what I need; where I miss the mark is organizing my list. So every time we go shopping, which except for fill-in items and sales, is once a month, I spend a good half hour per store running back and forth in the store picking up things that I added to the back of the list. The smart shopper would eliminate that! asthenight at gmail dot com
