Can we please sit in the time out chair?

Wouldn't it be the best thing ever if your kids would willing go to the time out chair?  Well, ideally the best thing ever would be a day of zero time outs but does that really happen? No wonder my kids hate time out.... they don't have a chair like this, time to get a little crafty and then maybe we all should have a few minutes of quiet time;)... Check out the tutorial HERE.

Cooking show

I have a son who LOVES to cook!  Every once in awhile he'll ask if he can have his own cooking show.  So I break out the video camera & help get out everything he needs. Then he creates a fruit salad usually & then I'm the camera man.  Even though he's 8, I still get so nervous when he wants to use a knife. My husband says he can handle it.  But me, I hand him a plastic knife.  So you could imagine how excited when we received some products from Khun Rikon. The kinderkitchen line is awesome.  Everything from Mouse Measuring cups to this awesome dog knife.  Easy grip handle, cuts food but can't stab anything with it... which is a concern at my house;)  I even found my new fav kitchen gadget too.  This dual peeler is FANTASTIC.  I never use  vegetable peelers because they never work right.  This one, I've had about 2 weeks and I can't stop using it.  I make excuses to peel anything. Peaches, cucumbers, tomatoes...  Not that I normally peel tomatoes, but I tried it and it works really well.  Great site for all your kitchen gadget needs.  I think Santa will be using this site to fill some stockings;)

Look Mom, I'm Grandpa

Ok, so my Dad rocks a stash... He's had it as long as I can remember, I don't even think about it much. He wouldn't be the same without it! My kids however just don't understand why I don't find it hilarious. The other night my son came out of the bathroom and said, "Look Mom, I'm Grandpa!" I'll admit, I laughed a little:) But please don't use my eye liner... These are much better:)

Move that bus!

I've had my fair share of strollers over the past 10 years. Everything to umbrellas to double to some that feel like I'm pushing a bus around! While, some have been good and others not so great, I've never been honestly able to say one certain stroller was FANTASTIC... until I met the Micralite FastFold Superlite! Seriously, I haven't been able to find anything I don't like about it! First thing I noticed was it was incredibly light weight, 14 lbs to be exact. Then the most amazing thing happen while my 4 year old son was having a ride... I could turn the stroller in a complete 360 with one hand! Never have I had a stroller that maneuvers so precise. Folds up nicely, removable terrain wheels & even comes with a air pump. Plus it has an attachment to add your own car seat. I love things that make my life easier, especially with almost 4 kids to wheel around:)

Just knot it!

I thought this Reverse Knot Dress was just too cute for words when it saw it at Kissing Kumquats! After it arrived and I opened up the package, the words started flowing! I couldn't stop talking about how adorable it was. My husband pointed out the "knots" and agreed this dress deserves some props on SF! Besides being adorable, this dress was made by a professional. As I Went Walking

BOO! I'm still alive. I have survived my freshman year of college (again...) and am currently in the trenches of full time employment.

Now to the good stuff! As I went walking down the commons area of my Washington high school, I would usually always see some guys at one end who were crocheting. I thought it was interesting to see the future ASB leadership guys doing such a thing, but didn't give it much thought.

Flashfoward (which was a good show, and I'm still upset it's canceled) several years after high school and I come across a link on my FB (Facebook for those who don't know) news feed about some guys with a "k"rochet company. I click it and learn about the same guys from high school are now doing amazing things with their talent.

They not only make hip hats and stylin' tee's, but they help women in Uganda at the same time. I don't wanna spoil the whole story, but it is quite a testament to vision and drive, and you should definitely check it out.

Now we are blessed to share their story/products with you, our favorite people! My favorite would have to be their Twin Fin hats. You will be strutting your stuff down the street in one of these hats with heads turning. One of the coolest things about these hats is that the stitching is designed so that you can wear them any season, hot or cold.

Not a hat person, no problem. They have t-shirts too. They even roll with cool music other things.

High Tide

I love walks on the beach, especially when the tide is coming in. There's just something about about trying to running from the water before it catches up to you! Most of the time I just give up a run through it. If it wasn't for my Grandma, I don't know if I would have a crafty side to me! I used to love going over to her house and spending the day making fun things when I was little. We always used buttons A LOT & whenever she would lose one, she would always sing "button button, who's got the button?" ... I think that's where I got my button fetish from! Bellamina had the perfect hair clip holder to catch my eye! It's adorned with a big flower with the center covered in buttons! The 21in ribbon is the perfect length to hold all of the cute hair accessories I've been making... made with buttons of course;)

What training wheels?

A few weeks ago my 3 year old had a neighbor friend over to play. Her bike was sitting in the yard & without hesitation he quickly jumped on and took off down the street. His brothers immediately starting shouting, which got my attention... My 3 year was riding a bike with NO training wheels & he didn't even think about it!
I wish I could say that he's just a fast learner but we actually owe a lot of the credit to the new Strider bike we tested out. It looks like a bike, just with out pedals. I know that sounds odd but this cool invention teaches a child balance. Balance, is all they really need to learn... training wheels just hold them back in the long run. After a few months of actually learning the correct skills, no doubt your 3 year old will be riding a 2 wheeler in no time too! I've been recommending this bike to everyone, you definitely need to check it out...
