As I Went Walking

BOO! I'm still alive. I have survived my freshman year of college (again...) and am currently in the trenches of full time employment.

Now to the good stuff! As I went walking down the commons area of my Washington high school, I would usually always see some guys at one end who were crocheting. I thought it was interesting to see the future ASB leadership guys doing such a thing, but didn't give it much thought.

Flashfoward (which was a good show, and I'm still upset it's canceled) several years after high school and I come across a link on my FB (Facebook for those who don't know) news feed about some guys with a "k"rochet company. I click it and learn about the same guys from high school are now doing amazing things with their talent.

They not only make hip hats and stylin' tee's, but they help women in Uganda at the same time. I don't wanna spoil the whole story, but it is quite a testament to vision and drive, and you should definitely check it out.

Now we are blessed to share their story/products with you, our favorite people! My favorite would have to be their Twin Fin hats. You will be strutting your stuff down the street in one of these hats with heads turning. One of the coolest things about these hats is that the stitching is designed so that you can wear them any season, hot or cold.

High Tide

I love walks on the beach, especially when the tide is coming in. There's just something about about trying to running from the water before it catches up to you! Most of the time I just give up a run through it. When I saw this Blue Sky dress at Pinky Swear Boutique, it instantly reminded me of the good times I spent on the beach as a kid & how much fun this dress would be to wear to run around on the shore. Lacey Mae'd It....

Never let's me down

Every season, I look forward to seeing what new clothing Athleta comes out with. I first tried out the swim line last summer and fell in love. Whether you're a Mom, teen or athlete, they have something that will fit your needs. Once again, Athleta's new swim line hasn't disappointed me. There's so many styles & ways to mix and match, it was hard to choose. In the end the Kalamata won my heart... So did this Rio Maxi dress. I'm all about comfort and staying cool this summer & I wish I never had to take this dress off;)

It's all in the jeans

As I've gotten older there are a few things that have changed. Let just say, that wearing the right clothes is definitely a must. Every body is different and I'm sorry ultra low rise jeans may be cute on you but not so much on someone else.. Here's a few denim lines that I've tried out & loving right now...

Fall, bring on my fav colors...

One of the things that helps me to not think about summer ending, are all the Fall colors! Yes, I LOVE SUMMER but I think I'm a rich color kinda girl. I may not be pregnant (phew) but I'm sure a lot of you are and one of my favorite lines for maternity essentials, Ingrid & Isabel, have just launched their BellaBand in fabulous colors for the fall! I have 3 little coolios at home... but in a market overflowing clothes made mainly for your little diva, it's hard to find clothes for boys that aren't screaming with characters. The Right Fit

Shade's 5 Tee fits right. That's the most important thing for me when it comes to shirts. So many times I get shirts and they just never seem to fit properly, but these are preshrunk and 50%/50% cotton/polyester blend, so they will fit perfect the first time... & you won't need too worry about them not fitting after you wash them. I wear these for under button up shirts or just by themselves and either way they feel like the most comfortable shirt I've ever worn. Plus, I'm diggin the $9.99 price.

Goin topless..

Well I can't say that would be something I would condone but I am a fan of Blush, topless undershirts! I love the layered look and I hate it when my shirt rides up, so most days I don't leave home without wearing some kind of undershirt. Although, Blush is not at all like regular undershirts because they're basically missing the top half, only it's brilliant because there's way less bulk and the whole world doesn't have to see you're wearing low rise jeans. And yes, they're totally adjustable and keep in place. So my suggestion is to buy one for your non pregnant self and one for your pregnant friend, because yes... they come in maternity sizes too! The Bright Side

It's pretty common to see different companies stating that they will donate part of their proceeds from sales to charity. Most of the time it's between 5 & 10% at most.
